Would manage our largest strategically aligned accounts, develop strong internal and external partnerships, and create a strategy that helps drive awareness and growth of the Safco brand.

The National Account Manager (NAM) is responsible for generating and executing sales growth with key national accounts by developing and implementing sales, product, and marketing plans designed to meet and exceed targeted plan metrics aligned with Safco’s strategic initiatives and vision. The NAM will be incremental in building and maintaining strong customer relationships.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Champion the Safco brand initiatives & growth strategy
  • Identify new opportunities within your accounts and execute to grow account revenue and meet or exceed targeted account plan metrics.
  • Partner with account(s) to help educate and inform of Safco’s unique value proposition.
  • Understand each customers strategy and how our brand and products align within that strategy.
  • Engage with merchants & category managers, understand their product strategy and how our brand meets the need of their strategy.
  • Coordinate and partner with various internal departments (product, sales, marketing, operations, finance, etc.) to execute and drive account specific activity and needs for the account(s).
  • Educate yourself on the Safco assortment, understand the product sales of each account, identify gaps within your channel, participate and help influence the new product development process as a voice of the customer to help drive new product ideas and offerings to drive Safco’s strategic vision.

  • Participate in trade shows, account visits, trainings throughout the year to continue build and strengthen account relationships and introduce and educate on market insights and product offerings to drive sales.
  • Lead negotiation and annual contract process with Accounts
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-10 years of national account experience preferably within the furniture or office products industry
  • Previous success in driving strong profitability and revenue growth
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
  • Strong networking ability to stay up to speed on trends and opportunities within the market
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Previous account management & project management experience
  • Previous experience engaging with customer merchants and marketing teams.
